Quality Assurance Manager
Job Description:
The Quality Assurance manager is responsible for developing processes and practices necessary to produce quality products/services and manage business risk for Capital One’s Mortgage processing systems. This resource will work closely with project and program teams to ensure all requirements are met and risk identified prior to release to production. Responsible for all aspects of quality project delivery (estimates, resource fulfillment, task management, scheduling, risk management, forecasting test case execution, defect management and test progress metrics).
Quality Responsibilities:
Leads review and audit of software products
Works with software projects during early stages to establish plans, standards and procedures that will add value to software project and satisfy the constraints of the project.
Establishes and
monitors standards for organization’s application quality process.
Monitors adherence to quality standards in development, testing and business processes and able to produce quantifiable metrics to measure success.
Ensures procedures and standards fit project's needs and verifies usability for performing reviews and audits throughout the software life cycle.
Responsible for managing relationships with peers and customers in Development, BIO and various business areas.
Ensures test plans, test cases and test execution documents
Manage direct and indirect resources effectively to achieve project goals.
are prepared per enterprise guidelines and work closely with the programs to ensure execution of the testing is on track. and activities to verify quality as well as compliance with applicable procedures and standards; provides relevant managers with results.
Project Management Responsibilities:
Identification of detailed task lists for each assigned project and creation of project plans
Working with project team management to identify resources and time frames for each task; identifying task dependencies, prerequisites and publishing the initial project plan for the assigned project.
Identification of resource contentions, project risks, critical path items and milestones achieved. This position coordinates and monitors the activities of project team members and obtains regular updates regarding percentage of completion of each task on the plan.
Analyst Responsibilities:
Provides the Department with in-depth system knowledge
Able to develop system requirements and specifications for all systems supported by the department.
Must have the skills to recognize needed system enhancements or changes based on the various departmental uses
, product and service related expertise and excellent analytical skills.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors Degree in business administration, computer science or MIS
3+ years experience in Systems Development Lifecycle
5+ years experience in Information Technology (Tester, Analyst, IT PM, Developer)
5+ years experience in Banking and Financial Services
5+ years experience with Mortgage business and related systems
Able to understand complex processes and risks, and articulate these in business terms
Demonstrated test management experience
Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and clients
Preferred:
Testing Certification, PM Certificate, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Quality tool experience (Quality Center, ClearQuest, QTP)
Familiarity with Card, Banking and AS400 mainframe systems
Experience working on both phased/waterfall and lean/agile (non waterfall or phased) project team in a testing, development or analyst capacity.
Ability to manage rapid change in a fast paced environment
Experience of working in a diverse and challenging environment
Ability to make information based decisions (includes the ability to make decisions based upon little information and to deal effectively with ambiguity)
