Principle Accountabilities:
This is a senior level position reporting into the VP of IT. The new leaders will oversee a team of professionals located in the United States. Flowserve’s application environment is a combination of packaged and internally developed systems. It includes PRMS, GreatPlains, Baan, Big Machines, SalesPoint, Best Fixed Assets, Vertex, Demand Solutions, Crystal Reports, ProClarity and custom apps. The director will be responsible for all of these systems. Flowserve requires a leader who brings a combination of large and small company experience. He/she will be a hands-on leader capable of working in an environment that is fast growing yet with limited resources. The ideal candidate will be “customer friendly” and will directly interact with the business. They will have an understanding of the business and interact with the functional business managers to help support the overall business goals and objectives. He/she will be a strong leader and will bring some ERP experience, ideally Oracle.
Responsibilities:
- Build an IT Organization (internally and/or externally) that is responsive to business unit needs, and is flexible and cost effective.
- Actively participate in developing business and IT strategy and ensure that appropriate technologies are available to meet the business needs.
- Think and act like a general manager, partnering with the executive team to optimize the utilization of IT investments in the most efficient manner.
- Develop a strong relationship with the business and ensure smooth implementation of software.
- Recruit, motiviate and develop a superior organization. Implement a management system that is customer focused, encourages creativity, drives performance, and effectively develops and rewards key performers.
- Effectively utilizes CIP tools and works in a continuous improvement environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment and strict adherence to organization, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Ideal Experience:
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of information systems leadership experience in a growth-oriented global manufacturing company with sales of more than $300 million
- Must have led at least one ERP assessment/implementation/upgrade in a disctributed manufacturing environment.
- Willing to travel to various facilities in the US and abroad as needed.
- A bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field.
- Experience with Sarbanes Oxley, including design, testing, and support of compliance efforts. Responsible for Sarbanes Oxley IT related compliance
- Experience with outsourcing, vendor management through metrics.

- A strong leader and organization influencer. Successful track record operating as a strategic and customer-focused IT leader with a strong business partner orientation.
- A technically and business savvy professional. Solid, documented, and detailed knowledge of current and emerging information technologies, especially ERP systems and software. Has the capacity and drive to keep abreast of new developments along with the ability to rationally assess their practical application in specifice corporate environments.
- Strong executive skills.
- Project management skills and past experience leading and managing projects
