Responsibilities

 
This role sets up Data Policy and the technical solution for the management, storage, access, and transformation of data. This role is responsible for establishing standards and guidelines for database design and coding. Responsible for database sizing and growth needs. Sets Data Policy and the technical solution for the management, storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation of data

Defines and Creates reusable objects.
• Performs code reviews.
• Ensures use of established standards
• Ensures the models are maintained properly in the model mart.
• Sets Data Policy and the technical solution for the management, storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation of data.
• Writes, debugs, tests, and implements database programming logic. Works primarily with developers to develop database-driven applications. 
• Administers, maintains, evaluates, and analyzes the current systems and/or system needs.
• Perform analysis and modeling to determine effective system file and data structures.
• Create database designs which provide the necessary flexibility as well as data integrity, integration and performance. Develop System and Database designs utilizing ERD, Process Modeling and other tools as deemed necessary.
• Independently or as part of the project team analyze, design, code, coordinate client and integration testing, debug and document database systems of all levels of complexity.
• Assist Database Administrators in creating database administration components including but not limited to a) Data source information and gathering b) data transformation c) data integrity and d) data maintenance.
• Develop DTS packages, build OLAP cubes, user interfaces and reports.
• Perform data mining on databases to establish trends/patterns that can be used in analyzing the data.
• Help to establish and enforce all rules, regulations and procedures designed to protect the integrity of the database at all times.
• Provide post implementation and on-going production support.
• Ensure standardized data definitions, data access and updates on new data fields or products.
• Develop and maintain a data dictionary
• Document data available in the systems as well as account data definition (criteria used). Develop audit control trails/reconciliation for data integrity.
• Evaluate/ Research new software tools and techniques.

 
Qualifications

 
4 Year college degree - Bachelor or equivalent (math, computer science or MIS preferred)
• 7+ years functional experience
• Knowledge of Mortgage Banking, Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Relational Database Management System architecture and concepts, including data modeling and database design.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server environments.  SQL (DDL, DML), Stored Procedures, Triggers, Database Utilities, SQL Views and Replication technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of reporting tools, such as Access, Visual Studio.net, OLAP and SQL Server Reporting Services, SharePoint, Crystal Reports.
• Ability to design and develop customized computer-based and/or web-based applications.
• Must be self motivated, detail oriented, and have a service oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team on development projects.
• Flexible and able to keep pace with software and business industry changes and new technologies
