 Job Description
 The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for:
* Providing direct patient care to inpatients
* Observing patient behavior, vital signs, symptoms, responses to treatments and reports findings to registered nurse
* Carrying out the patient's plan of care under the direction of a registered nurse
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License or Certification:
* Current LPN licensure appropriate to state regulations
* CPR certification
Total Education, Vocational Training and Experience:
* One year experience in inpatient medical surgical or general hospital setting preferred
* Rehabilitation experience preferred
Machines, Equipment Used:
* General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
Physical Requirements:
* Visual acuity and ability to communicate sufficiently to conduct safe patient care duties
* Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds, which includes participating in patient mobility activities.
Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
* Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
* Ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbal arenas as well as via email.
* Ability to work independently without supervision.
Environmental Conditions:
* Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure
* Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.
* Handicapped accessibility.
* May work under stressful circumstances at times.
Proficiency or Productivity Standards:
* May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.
* May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
* Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e. before, during or after a disaster.
* May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives.
* Regular attendance and reporting on time to work is a requirement of position.
