Job Description Provide excellent written and verbal communications to promote the assigned organization within UT Dallas. Will create public relations & marketing opportunities in all communications areas: news media, web based communications, print materials, public speaking and presentations. Will focus on bringing positive attention to student, faculty and institutional achievement. Will work with other communications staff within the university and will keep branding & presentation of the assigned area consistent with institutional guidelines. Will work with central communications office & meet regularly, to coordinate all media relations and marketing efforts.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English or marketing. 5-7 years of experience including excellent written & verbal communication skills; Microsoft Office skills, good interpersonal skills, experience with public speaking & presentations to the public. Knowledge of higher education, public relations, news media, web based communications, print materials. Experienced in generating content for web & print with some emphasis on creation of routinely needed brochures and other clinical materials.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in liberal arts field or journalism. 5-7 years experience in a public relations agency, in-house communication office or professional news reporting/writing job.
Minimum Responsibilities Write and develop all content, in all media, to be used for promotion of the assigned unit at UT Dallas. Become the expert about all aspects of the organization and its personnel. Maintain relationships with colleague officers in outside agencies; work collegially with other university communications officers to leverage the greatest possible value in terms of promotion. Represent the school or business unit to media, visitors, donors, and others, including requests for information. Manage & oversee production of routine publications.
