Develop and implement sales, service and support plans for AT&T wire line and mobility, a $50 million plus sales potential. Drive product sales though the various sales channels of distribution, VARs, Manufacturer Representative or as a direct sale according to the company’s strategic planning. Obtain product, company and system approval leading to divisional contracts to maximize sales and profit in a manner consistent with C&D policy and procedure.
This account will have a team of two people. This position will be home based, but the ideal candidate will be situated in Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA. A candidate in the Southwest or Southeast may also be considered.
1. Specific Responsibilities:
- Make regular sales calls on assigned AT&T locations; providing pricing and sales support on all of C&D’s products to include 2volt, 12 volt and flooded batteries as well as technical support.
- Develop relationships at all levels within AT&T
- Ensure company policy and procedures are communicated and implemented
- Develop new markets and applications for existing products within the account
- Provide direct sales contact and support where necessary with Regional Managers, Manufacturers Representatives, VAR’s and distribution channels.
- Work with end-users and consultants in specifying battery requirements and solving various product performance/installation or lead-time issues
- Assist with installations, field service, A/R and credit issues as required.
- Give customer presentations on battery products, electronics products, system applications and EF&I services.
- Prepare and submit annual Business Plans by assigned account to include sales activity, product forecast, and new product requirements.
- Report progress on a quarterly basis to executive leadership team
- Provide leadership and direction for / at assigned accounts; make recommendations as necessary
- Attend Trade Shows as directed
- Prepare and negotiate national contracts or pricing agreements
- Provide input regarding strategic plan development and account goals and needs
- Recommend strategies for served markets including the identification and need for new products.
- Obtain product and standards approval as required
- Take lead role in gaining favored supplier status through corporate contracts at key assigned accounts
Minimum:
- Proven and documented success selling into AT&T required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or Engineering, with a minimum of 5 to 7 years management and industry-related experience.
- Previous experience working with large customer accounts, battery and power knowledge preferred.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills, analytical ability, managerial ability and professionalism.
- Able to navigate and influence cross-divisional organizations; able to adapt to different situations.
- PC proficiency with spreadsheet applications.
- Experience with CRM software (we use Maximizer)
- Ability to travel minimum 50-75%
Preferred:
MBA with Sales or Marketing concentration
