Job Description:



This position is in the Development/Foundation Department. Responsible for planning, developing, budgeting and monitoring a wide variety of grants and gifts. Duties include but not limited to:










  • Develops, implements and manages a variety of grant-funded and private gift solicitation programs.











  • Programs can range from Department of Labor, Texas Workforce Commission, Department of Education and National Science Foundation grants to alumni relations.

  • Maintains updated operational plans for all programs to assist in determining DCCCD resource needs.

  • Responsible for the integrity of the database required to evaluate grant and gift performance, compliance and periodic reporting.

  • Develops and administers related budgets.

  • Responsible for statistical and narrative reports related to grants and gifts to ensure compliance with DCCCD and Foundation policies and procedures, contracts, external agencies and private donors.

  • Serves as liaison between DCCCD administrators, district accounting and external funding sources.

  • Resolves problems of considerable complexity regarding documentation, interpretation of grant/gift use; agency/gift requirements; grant/gift objectives; grant/gift outcomes, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.





Requirements:










  • Bachelor’s degree or higher plus three years experience in contracts/grants/gifts solicitation.

  • Critical skills in interpersonal relations and diplomacy; critical thinking; creativity; excellent oral and written communications; advanced computer skills (word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet); excellent presentation skills. 

  • Ability to be flexible and be a self-starter; have a high degree of self-initiative; to persuade and influence others. 

  • Able to manage numerous projects, work well with others, provide project leadership and take a project from inception to completion.

  • Knowledge of potential funding sources.

  • Knowledge of grant standards and proposal guidelines.

  • Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others.

  • Demonstrated research and writing skills.

  • Oral and written communication skills to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Official transcripts will be required.

  • A criminal background check will be conducted.
