OverallWorking in a highly collaborative fashion with Broadlane senior management, the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications will drive organizational change and direct the overall marketing and communications strategy of the company.  This individual will conceive the appropriate strategy and initiatives necessary to elevate the presence and perception of the Company to drive revenue growth and client satisfaction and will be responsible for all long-range planning.  The Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications will manage and mentor a team of Manager and Director level individuals who are responsible for the Marketing and Communications functions of the group.Marketing


  •   Work in a highly collaborative fashion with internal stakeholders to conceive a marketing strategy which is designed to meet long-term business goals.

  •   Create and direct an ROI strategy which allows for continued measurement of the influence and success of marketing

  •   Direct processes for developing defined product and service marketing concepts, to include – but not limited to – branding, marketing strategy and marketing communications strategy.

  •   Drive all marketing strategies, message development, marketing plan development for the company’s products and services

  •   Drive and collaborate in the development of the annual marketing plan (in conjunction with senior management and business units) and detailed marketing budgets for all the company’s products and services, and then effectively manages those budgets to ensure budget success and optimal efficiency.Communications

  •   Provide strategic and corporate communications counsel to the Broadlane leadership team.

  •   Provide strategic direction regarding the quality and appropriateness of communications strategies to all business leads.

  •   Works collaboratively with executive leadership team to ensure strategic application of Broadlane business objectives in all sales presentations and materials. External Communications

  •   Establish and drive client communications to enable vital business information to flow smoothly between distinct sets of business process personnel both within Broadlane and within clients.

  •   Conceive and drive external communications strategies that provide the maximum exposure, resonance and ROI to all external audiences and stakeholders.

  •   Establish communications principles that ensure Broadlane delivers client communications in ways that continually personalize the Broadlane client experience.

  •   Direct communications to ensure that high-level messaging and information flows regularly between Broadlane and its clients.Internal Communications

  •   Establish, own and drive strategic internal communications that positively impacts employee understanding, engagement and commitment; encompasses an even stronger connection to Broadlane’s business and strategic goals; and represents employees’ perspective and relationship with the company

  •   Partner effectively with business leaders across the company to ensure successful internal communications (both corporate and group-specific) to employees, as well as alignment with external communications priorities.

  •   Provide strategic input for company announcements, and for change-management communications efforts. Required Skills

  •   15-20 years of progressive experience in both marketing and communications.

  •   Exceptional strategic focus and experience from a marketing perspective.

  •   Proven experience in managing a large group of marketing and communications professionals.

  •   Thorough knowledge and experience in driving revenue growth with the application of marketing and communications techniques.

  •   Excellent oral, written, presentation and analytical skills.

  •   Demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.

  •   Works well under deadline pressure, and has capacity to work extensive hours if needed on assignments.

  •   Strong ability to manage, mentor and motivate staff.

  •   Proven ability to work effectively with company leadership.

  •   Communicate effectively at all levels of the company.

  •   Thorough knowledge of the principles of effective communications and mass media as they relate to business-to-business.

  •   Plan, organize, and effectively presents ideas and concepts to groups

  •   Assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze that information and recommend courses of action to be taken

  •   Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and communicates effectively – both orally and in writingRequired Experience and Education

  •   Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, or communications – or equivalent; Masters Degree preferred.

  •   Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, most recently in a visible leadership role, and with a proven ability to manage and mentor department staff

  •   Experience in healthcare-related environment highly desirable.

  •   Willing to travel as necessary to company events and regional offices.
