Summary Position Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for account development including the directing marketing, sales strategies and initiatives, programs and alliances for new business markets for Set-Top boxes. Identify and capitalize on new business partnership opportunities with primary targets such as Verizon, AT&T and potential two tier players like, Quest, etc on a consolidated basis to establish a solid market and sales presence beachhead. Qualified to Structure programs, proposals and contracts and Bidding initiatives to Leverage accounts and formalize strategic initiatives complimentary to their corresponding revenue streams. Manage cross-functional business development and support teams including members of sales, operations and product management organizations both domestic and in Korea. Candidate should have experience both in engineering and sales skills for the business including significant background in Intel and Microsoft.

Duties & Resp. Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:
• Target AT&T, Verizon etc, and other consolidated 2nd tier players (Quest, etc)
• Perform product and business strategy research and marketing tasks, including: planning, leading, directing the collection and analysis of marketing and business planning information, identifying and cultivating business opportunities, channels and co-marketing programs for Business Communications products.
• Prepare marketing and business opportunity requirements and information to clearly define and support recommendations for new product marketing opportunities, new business channels or business partnerships to increase market share and/or profitability.
• Proactively develop new interdependent sales and marketing relationships with targeted accounts. Identify the need and recommend contract terms and conditions. Thoroughly present business opportunities including anticipated sales performance, marketing and business management costs.
• Initiates, develops, coordinates, recommends and oversees the formation and management of cross-functional business development teams including sales, operations and product management personnel. Identifies project objectives, team member participation and manages project to achieve scheduled results and deliverables
• Conducts strategic business planning meetings to identify business opportunities, business partnerships, marketing requirements, business fulfillment expectations and potential sales, revenue, costs and profitability.
• Functions as liaison with potential business partners and marketing development representatives.
• Analyze market trends, compares other vendor and competitive offerings. Consults and negotiates with potential business partners on new business sales and marketing opportunities, business plans and contract terms.
• Prepares business opportunity budgets, project plans, management, progress, expenditure, and other related reports to identify performance and successful achievement of objectives.
Background /
Experience Background/Experience to qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:
• Bachelors Degree or higher degree, from an accredited college or university.
• Should have 5-8 years account management experience/business development, strategic marketing and major account management developing, compiling, and presenting information on products and services to both inside and outside audiences.
• Should have a minimum of 5-8 years experience in a Set Top, HMS, Content, Chipsets from Intel, Microsoft and or cellular Business Communications, product management, with Motorola, and or Cisco (Scientific Atlanta).
• Strong verbal, written and negotiation communications skills.
• Experience developing executive sales presentations using a variety of PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and graphic arts software to deliver high impacting messaging of Samsung Key deliverables and advantages.
• Be able to research prospects, leverage executive relationships, and capitalize on promoting Customer Win themes established during prospecting and selling cycle to establish a presence and ultimate long term relationship.

• Read and interpret detailed and most complex engineering product development and marketing documents, media materials and contracts or related documents based on corporate legal and marketing standards and philosophy.
• Demonstrated exemplary performance in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at all levels, especially in engineering, sales and marketing areas of both clients, prospects, and within STA.
• Provide project leadership, guidance, direction, training and coaching of cross-functional team members, in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames.
• Direct marketing events thru initiatives such as special events, trade shows throughout the targeted customer organization.
Physical / Mental
Demands & Condition Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
• Extensive travel and customer management at various levels within each major target prospect.
• Operate a computer keyboard, demo units, prototypes and view a video display terminal more than 50% of work time in an office work environment. Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule in conjunction with Samsung Development teams in Korea.
• Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical and include time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and project management stress.
• Travel to customer locations, trade shows, etc. approximately 40% of time.
• Be able to translate customer requirements into actual factory design commitments and sales and marketing business plans enabling strategic customer relations and mutual commitment.
