Overall Responsibilities:
 
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the supply chain inventory plan for parts & supplies, approximately 40% of on-hand inventory for the $1.2B residential business.  In addition, this position will play a key role in implementing a new Inventory Management System for parts & supplies. 
 
The role of the Supply Chain Planner is to accurately forecast demand to drive Supply Chain Management activities throughout the organization.  This position is responsible to analyze volume variability in order to facilitate improving the overall demand forecast.  The Planner position is also responsible for developing and maintaining a demand forecast for service Parts, segmentation, classification of Parts to assist in inventory management, and the development of safety stock levels to support Lennox’s service level objectives. This position will also work with sales associates to incorporate guidance into the demand forecast.  In addition, this position is responsible for identifying planning system and process improvements and for conducting ad hoc inventory management analysis.  Primary performance metrics for this role are inventory turns, fill rate, and forecast accuracy.
 
Other essential duties include, but are not limited to:
·         Evaluate current demand forecast methodology used to drive Supply Chain planning.  Review forecast metrics and determines best method to improve forecast accuracy. 
·         Ensure forecast policies and procedures are executed.
·         Analyze impact of stocking policies; focus on exceptions.
·         Review inventory management forecast and service level. Assess and implement trade off recommendations as appropriate.
Evaluate the impact of promotional activities, new product distribution and seasonality on volume fluctuations.
·         Review Inventory Plan and objectives. 
·         Work with sales team to incorporate market guidance into the demand forecast
·         Determine stocking levels and methodology, initial and on-going, for new and existing retail branch locations
·         Analyze impact of obsolescence and scrap policies.
·         Implement Inventory Plan policies and objectives.
·         Ensure statistical forecasts are generated on a regular basis.
·         Maintain, analyze, fine tune, and review the necessary parameters in the inventory planning system.
·         Ensure forecast history and previous demand data is clear and accounted for.
·         Monitor accuracy reports and respond to out-of-tolerance forecast & inventory conditions.
·         Implement stocking policy (stocking and de-stocking)
·         Monitor lead time in the planning and production cycle and identify issues as required.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
 
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of inventory planning
APICS classes or certification
Experience setting stocking levels based on statistical forecasting tools
 
Must also have the following demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities:
 
Use of SAP R3 and APO
Knowledge of inventory optimization systems, Tools Group a plus
Strong analytical capabilities
Advanced use of MS Access and MS Excel
Leadership Traits
 
Has a team orientation
Logical and creative thinker
Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and is capable of  “ doing the analysis”
Teaches competency to the team
Has strong facilitation skills
