JOB SUMMARYResponsible for developing and maintaining high-touch client management to assigned client(s) including building and maintaining executive relationships, developing and executing a strategic supply chain management plan, providing periodic updates to client, monitoring adherence to budget, resolving client issues, and ensuring all Broadlane services are delivered at the highest level.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  •   Accountable for the Broadlane-client relationship for assigned client(s) including developing and maintaining executive relationships at the highest levels of the organization, managing the account on a daily basis, driving compliance, resolving client issues, becoming a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all supply chain matters, and expanding the relationship by introducing the full range of Broadlane services.    

  •   Works with the client to understand supply chain challenges and goals across the hospital or health system by using a consultative approach of understanding the client’s operation and driving to help them identify supply chain challenges and opportunities; develops a strategic supply chain management plan (SCMP) that addresses those needs and utilizes Broadlane’s contracts and services; develops a tactical workplan outlining planned initiatives and anticipated financial results; develops metrics to measure the success of the SCMP; and interacts with the client to ensure SLAs are being met and to communicate Broadlane’s value proposition.

  •   Manages the account on a day-to-day basis to drive compliance to Broadlane contracts and resolve problems.

  •   Manages the renewal process including negotiating the contract, working with Legal on terms and conditions, managing relationships, etc.

  •   Identifies opportunities for Broadlane service lines to address/resolve specific supply chain challenges of client, effectively positions Broadlane service line representatives with client and facilitates expansion of service portfolio to client.

  •   Consistently drives toward meeting targeted savings and other client goals, while remaining dedicated to service excellence and meeting or exceeding the requirements and expectations of the client.

  •   Develops an annual client/service line level operating budget for their assigned client(s) consistent with Broadlane and client goals.

  •   Accountable for the attainment of the agreed operating budget and other performance measures for their assigned client; directs Broadlane resources to produce desired financial results and is accountable for developing specific project tasks that directly relate to Broadlane’s contractual obligations; e.g., contract conversion planning.

  •   Periodically reports to client executives and others within the client organization via client business reviews (CBRs) or other established channels the value delivered by Broadlane and status against the annual work plan.

  •   Leverages support from Broadlane infrastructure teams as required to support the client by requesting information, analytics, projects, and/or resources; manages completion times and client expectations.

  •   Supports, as requested, the Sales team in the pursuit and acquisition of new Broadlane clients.

  •   Represents Broadlane at industry events, industry committees, and public speaking opportunities as requested.

  •   Requires 80% travel to client sites by commercial airliner and automobile. REQUIRED SKILLSTechnical/Functional: 

  •   Strong understanding of healthcare provider supply chain operations; must also be a versatile learner who is open to change and challenges of unfamiliar tasks

  •   Knowledge of general health care industry issues and trends to converse with client executives and identify potential opportunity for new Broadlane services

  •   Ability to utilize rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems and make quality decisions in a timely manner

  •   Proficiency in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications Relationship:

  •   Ability to deal comfortably with senior management and clients’ Board members, understand how they think, “talk their language” and craft approaches that are viewed as positive

  •   Appears approachable by easily putting others at ease and building rapport, exercising good listening skills and patience before making judgments

  •   Possesses both interpersonal and policy political savvy, with demonstrated ability to effectively maneuver through complex political situations, diffuse high-tension situations, and relate well to individuals at all levels in the organization

  •   Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations, to approach conflict as opportunities, and to settle disputes assertively versus aggressivelyCommunication:

  •   Ability to write and speak clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings to communicate the desired message

  •   Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings (one on one, small and large groups, with peers, etc.).

  •   Commands attention and can manage the group process during a presentation Planning & Organizational:

  •   Ability to influence those not directly within span of control

  •   Ability accurately scope out tasks and timeframes associated with completion, set objectives and goals, and prioritize and adjust work accordingly

  •   Ability to assign responsibility for tasks and decisions, monitor progress and design feedback loops to ensure completion

  •   Ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately to manage expectations and plan competitive strategies, to connect previously unrelated notions, and to create a vision; must be able to shift gears comfortablyREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  •   Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience; completion of graduate program preferred

  •   Prior P&L responsibility

  •   At least 10 years of experience in a management role in an acute care hospital setting or in healthcare-related businesses; experience in acute care healthcare settings preferred

  •   Prior supply chain management or client service (consulting) experience strongly preferred
