Summary QA Engineer - KOREAN Speaking Required
The QA Engineer will be responsible for setting up procedures for incoming inspection of refurbished phones and service parts. These responsibilities will include specification writing, disposition of discrepant material, setting up new processes working with Korea for quality improvements, and auditing vendors.
Common Essential
Duties & Resp. Auditing private service centers and monitoring their quality. Audits to be followed up with formal reports of the results and follow-up of action items identified.
Writing and updating specifications to formally document procedures for incoming inspection of service parts and refurbished phones.
Working with the appropriate groups to disposition discrepant material found during quality inspections. Will also monitor MRB levels for related telecommunications products and follow-up to ensure product is dispositioned in a timely manner.
Training the QA supervisors, leads, test technicians and inspectors on new processes and new products that are set-up.
Generate formal reports documenting and informing management of the results and issues found during incoming inspections. Also responsible for communicating with the vendors regarding product quality and working for continuous improvement.
Setting up new processeses and supporting existing processes by interfacing with the applicable support groups and obtaining feedback to minimize communications problems and maximize efficiencies.
Continuously follow-up on quality issues found to see them through to their appropriate resolution.
Background /
Experience Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
3-5 years of job related experience
Must be fluent in Korean (writing as well as speaking)
Thorough understanding of the ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 stds.
Ex[perience with MS Office including Excel, Word and Access
Understanding and experience with ISO 9000 requirements
Expereince with using statistical process control and failure mode effect analysis FMEA applications
Familiar in working with SAP
Experience using HP8924C test equipment with mobile phones
Experience with Cadex C7000 battery analyzer or similar to test handset batteries
Experience auditing internally and third parties with minimal documentation to insure process controls are in place and adequate.

/ Attributes The ability to development and maintain excellent working relationships with multiples levels within the company and with external contacts including customers, authorized service agents, sales & equipment service representatives, etc. Must be able to influence others in acceptance, approval and to provide technical clarification.
The ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs and tables of information and to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.
The ability to read, write, provide critical technical review and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures and technical product information.
Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things. Exposed to situations where only broad and general guidelines for solving problems exist. Job duties require analysis and judgement of functional practices and daily experiences be used to determine appropriate courses of action.
Physical / Mental
Demands & Condition Operate PC and product test equipment more than 75% of work time in an alternating sedentary and highly mobile position.
Lift, move, or adjust general test equipment, boxes, supplies, materials or products weighing up to 50 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures.
High level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction and moderate color distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information analysis and error recognition.
High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform electronic component repair work.
Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with electronic component test, assembly and repair work including test equipment, testing devices, technician hand tools, cables, etc; first aid kit is available and prescription safety glasses are required in certain test areas.
Under general supervision where general policies govern, daily activities are only sometimes monitored and performance is measured by effective results. Errors are difficult to detect and may adversely affect outside relationships. Access to sensitive confidential data such as salaries, disclosure may have serious internal or minor external effect.
