Level: Manager
Location: Plano, TX
This role leads the communication function for Capital One’s Financial Services division. The communications team is responsible for developing and implementing integrated communication programs to support business and HR strategies, developing communications to support organizational change, and creating feedback loops between leaders and employees.
In this role, you will develop and execute internal business and HR communication plans across communication channels, audiences, and client groups. Primary responsibilities include providing leadership communication consulting and writing/editing of communications, message points, and other publications for Capital One’s Mortgage line of business. You will partner closely with HR and the executive office to effectively support large associate meetings, senior leader events, online content, and other ad hoc activities.
You will also directly manage one employee (supporting communications for the Auto Finance line of business) as well as coordinate with communicators in other businesses and corporate communications.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver results-driven communication strategies and plans that help drive change communications efforts in support of the overall business
• Provide communications coaching to senior leaders - program communication leadership consulting, planning, and execution
• Create and implement ad hoc activities for departments such as recognition programs, surveys and results, volunteer relationships, promoting new products internally, etc.
• Develop, implement, and continually assess quantitative and qualitative metrics to monitor the effectiveness and business impact of internal communications
• Identify, build and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders, communicators for other businesses, HR partners, Corporate Affairs, and other key stakeholders
• Manage up to 3 associates
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 2 years experience in partnering with and coaching senior executives on effective communications that support organization objectives
• 5 years experience in developing oral and written communications
• 1 years supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing or Public Relations
• 5 + years experience in developing and implementing integrated communication strategies to drive organizational change and achieve measurable results based on business objectives.
• 5 + years experience in partnering with and coaching senior executives on effective communications that support organization objectives
• 5 + years experience in managing multiple projects
• 5 + years experience in managing communication channels to increase employee engagement in organizational goals, manage organizational change, and create feedback loops between leaders and subordinates
• Experience working in a Mortgage company
• Experience in project management and/or event management
• 5 years supervisory experience
