Overview:
The Staff Systems Engineer for UAS Programs performs requirements analysis and management, technical planning, systems level design, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Also performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into systems specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensure the logistical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.

Responsibilities:
• Perform requirements management, analysis, and allocations on complex systems design

• Lead the STORM UAV design and development effort for UAS Engineering.

• Develop and provide cost estimates to support engineering activities.

• Execute technical plans while providing technical leadership.

• Define requirements for and recommend tools to improve systems engineering design of a product and procedures.

• Develop systems specifications, master test plans, and other necessary artifacts.

• Provide inputs into the integrated master schedules and track program progress.

• Assist in verification and validation responsibilities.

• Fully understand internal systems engineering procedures and mentor entry level engineers.

• Other related duties and assignments.

Authorities:

• Technical program manager on the STUAS program.
• Operates under the direct supervision of his supervisor.

Business Relationships:

• Works closely with the business units and business development teams.
• Leads other functional resources on program tasks.
• Leads other engineering organization resources.
• Frequent customer interactions.

Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department
Advanced DOORS requirements management training
Systems Engineering Simulation and Modeling concepts
Systems Engineering methods, tools, and procedures
