3G Transmission Planning Engineer
Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities:
? UMTS Transmission planning engineer is responsible for providing technical support with planning and dimensioning of the RNC hardware and interfaces (Iub, Iur, Iu-CS, Iu-PS).
? Contractor will be technical lead for the regional team and will coordinate all RNC planning standards and guidelines with the FSC National counterpart. Also, needs to represent the RAN engineering group during project meetings and provide needed competence transfer to local engineers.
? Assists customer with preparations of planning documents (CIQ, SED) needed to install and integrate the RNC. This contains IP plans, ATM connectivity and RNC parameters which are the main output expected for the position.
? Supports RNC & Node B integrations, parameter compliance and audit needed for acceptance.
? Communicate Client recommendations such as feature enchancement, SW releases impacts for RF performance, RNC future upgrades, etc
? Provides performance/optimization measurement and recommendations for the RNC interface (Iub, Iu-PS, Iu-CS, Iur for both userplane and signaling), unit loading, data throughput, DMPG pool resource, RNC utilization, etc
? Supports the microwave transport backbone network design where required, including path selection, line of sight analysis, frequency analysis, interference analysis, tower location, antenna selection and antenna positioning parameters.
Requirements
* Candidates should possess Subject Matter Expert on RNC and Node B equipment particulary with RNC 450, RNC2600, Flexi Node B and latest software RU10. Minimum 2 years experience on Client 3G transmission planning and roll-out is a must.
* Familiarity with RNC datafill parameters and Node B configurations. RU10 All IP planning knowlegde is a plus.
* Highly skilled in Transmission KPI performance measurement such as Iub reservation, Iu traffic, data throughput, signaling loading, unit loading,etc
* Hands-on experience on IP planning, subnetting, VLAN, routing, etc
* Background with ATM planning, STM/OC3 or TDM technology.
* Hands-on experience with IPA2800 MML command
* Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills (follow-up, knowledge transfer, coordination, etc).
* Skills in using MW design tools such as LinkPlanner.
