PROJECT CONTROLS – DESIGN BUILD – DALLAS, TX
We are seeking a Project Controls Manager. This position requires a minimum of fifteen years experience in Project Controls. This position will be assigned a Public Private Partnership project with the design led by a Design Builder (Contractor). The preferred candidate must be highly effective and technically competent Project Controls Senior Engineer. This position requires a highly motivated individual who will be able to manage a Project Controls team comprised of two staff members and coordinate with the Project Controls Senior Engineer and other discipline team members. The candidate must have an excellent working knowledge of Project Controls, scheduling, Primavera, Excel and resource management, contracts, change order management and the design management process. The candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills. Experience with Design Build is preferred.
General Duties
* Responsible for providing a program for control of project cost, schedule and documentation.
* Directs the activities of the Office of Project Controls to include all personnel issues and budgetary matters for a staff of professional and administrative employees.
* Mentors and develops staff
* Ensures coordination and cooperation between office and client Project Controls Staff.
* Directs cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
* Directs schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development activities.
* Directs documentation configuration and control activities.
* Provides guidance for non-routine staff activities.
* Identifies, analyzes, and provides innovative solutions to cost engineering, scheduling and documentation problems.
* Periodically evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of the office Standards of Practice for Project Controls, as contained within the Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual. Updates and/or creates additional policies and procedures as required. Monitors and audits staff compliance relative to the Standards of Practice and to the requirements of the Quality Assurance Program.
Specific Requirements
* Working knowledge of cost control, schedule control, document control and project administration.
* Working knowledge of Primavera scheduling software.
* Working knowledge of earned-value methods of assessing and reporting physical progress.
* Working knowledge of engineering work program development process.
* Organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
* Leadership, supervisory, delegation, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data and analysis.
* Ability to effectively present information to top management and client staff.
* 15 or more years of experience in project controls
* TxDOT & Design Build experience preferred
