We currently have the following position available in our Neuromodulation Division.
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical) develops production fixturing for product manufacture. Develops test systems for existing and new products. Troubleshoot and solve production problems. Provide technical support to manufacturing departments. Provides guidance to engineering project teams to ensure new projects are designed for manufacturability and changes to existing projects include manufacturing improvements.
Major Ongoing Responsibilities:
• Designs, develops, and documents fixtures for existing and new products including (but not limited to) PCB SMT Assembly Support Fixtures and Paste Screens, Temperature Cycle/Burn-In Fixtures, Secondary Operation Assembly Fixtures, Test and Rework Fixtures.
• Designs, develops, and documents PCB and other assembly Test Sets for new products. Maintain and upgrade Test Sets for existing products.
• Provides product support including (but not limited to) troubleshooting of electronic and electro-mechanical failures, assembly and test process improvements, replacement of obsolete components, identification and correction of design weaknesses.
• Coordinate new product transfers from customer or engineering groups into production.
• Review new product designs for manufacturability including (but not limited to) circuit designs, PCB layouts and panel formats, design for assembly and test, Routing requirements.
• Determine new product structure, develop and implement manufacturing documentation.
• Provide technical support for internal and external Quality and Procurement activities.
• Generate DCN’s, and documentation changes as required for products in production.
• Provide guidance during preparation of validation protocols and assistance during the execution of the protocols.
Education and Training:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Five or more years electronic design experience. Two to three years of manufacturing experience.
• Mastery of documentation procedures including mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, flow charts and spreadsheets, DCN procedures.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, management, external supplier’s, and customers to achieve project goals.
• Must be able to effectively utilize existing resources when possible and source new when necessary.
• Knowledge of Digital and Analog components and circuits.
• Fluent in CAD (AutoCad preferred), documentation standards and tolerance analysis.
• Fluent in Schematic generation, PCB Layout and Gerber edit tools.
• Basic knowledge in the operation of machine shop equipment and ability to fabricate simple fixtures.
• Knowledge of Quality System and ISO 9001 / 13485.
• Position is sedentary and requires heavy computer usage and time spent on the manufacturing floor. Requires 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking.
