Position Engineer - Electrical


Purpose This newly-created position will be responsible for performing and verifying electrical design engineering that covers the full range of main power generation and distribution systems related to MODUs.


Job Profile Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing electrical engineering and technical support to the global field operation
Analysis of power generation and distribution systems
Producing professional technical reports
Modeling DP drilling vessel power systems Reporting Relationship Reports to the Manager - Engineering Electrical, Mechanical & Deepwater Support Education and Training Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10 years experience in electrical engineering design and technical support of main power generation and distribution systems, preferably on MODUs or ocean-going vessels. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of:

AC power generating and distribution compliant design philosophies
AC rectification, SCR, DC inverting, VFD power conversion and distribution system compliant design
Power plant operation, functionality, and requirements
Power management philosophies and implementation
Drilling equipment operation, loads and requirements
Dynamically-positioned offshore vessels
Applicable codes, standards, and rules of design Skills Location Dallas - Corporate (Dallas Corporate)
