Financial Aid Program Coordinator II

Salary: $2,266 / Month
A full-time (M-F, One Evening per Week and Some Weekends) position in the Financial Aid Department. Duties include but are not limited to:

* Processes financial aid applications, including tracking document status, auditing required documents to verify accuracy, completeness and compliance with local, state and federal regulations and policies.

* Participates in college recruitment/outreach activities; publicizes program services through public and private information sources; coordinates marketing efforts with existing college efforts.

* Provides basic and general loan counseling information; assists students with initial explanation of various loan types and payment options and procedures.

* Develops forms, handouts and brochures used in program; coordinates related production and distribution activities.

* Monitors financial aid related web information and appropriately communicates needed modifications.

* Develops and conducts presentation and/or focus groups about financial aid requirements, application processes, academic progress requirements, eligibility requirements, etc.

* Assists students, at times, with online completion of their financial aid request forms.

* Provides information on transfer options on financial aid scholarships or loans.

* Develops, organize and/or teach workshops, seminars, events to recognize scholarship recipients and/or market services and programs offered through the department.

* Generates reports related to assigned program area as deemed necessary by program administrator (Director).

* May supervise the activities of part-time or student employees and/or volunteers.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

* Associate’s degree or higher plus three years of student services experience or financial aid program coordination experience or 48 college credit hours plus five years of student services experience or financial aid program coordination experience.

* Ability to perform routine data entry and effectively explain defined processes and regulations.

* Ability to utilize computer technology in order to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others.

* Oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

* Must submit transcripts with application.

* A criminal background check will be conducted.
