Flowserve is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to be a part of our Information Technology team. This individual will be significantly involved with projects, systems, and applications utilized by our Corporate Finance, Marketing, and Communications organizations.
This role requires a deep understanding of business processes, financial systems, and technology. The ideal candidate will have experience gathering complex business requirements and then identifying the correct technology to meet those requirements. Additionally, the ideal candidate must possess the self-motivation and drive necessary to lead projects and complex assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining design documents. Assists in the development of documentation for requirements definition, usability, scope, and breadth/depth of project and milestone plans.
- Works closely with Flowserve’s Corporate Functions, project management teams, and Enterprise Shared Services colleagues.
Works with and across divisions, geographies, and functions to implement and support new functionality and processes.
Makes recommendations to utilize technology in a manner that will improve business results and generate significant return on investment.
Ensures project and process quality.
Maintains effective ongoing communications with the business and IT community and operational management regarding system plans, projects, budgets, expenditures, and policies.
Supports the continuous improvement process.
Ensures adherence to company policies, standards, and procedures.
Provides in-depth consultation to Business Unit and IT management to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures, and methodologies.
Other Position Responsibilities:
- The ability to direct and lead others such as consultants and cross-team groups.
Supports multiple projects/tasks within assigned area.
Researches and evaluates new and/or alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
Drives business process reengineering and related lean concepts through Web development, Oracle ERP, and related information systems.
Best practice deployment.
Participates and provides input into the evaluation and implementation of new applications, application functionality and tools as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS.
Techno-functional background with demonstrated ability to understand the Financial Business Process (GL, AP, Tax, Treasury).
Experience in writing and running test scripts.
Experience and understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx).
Experience effectively gathering business requirements.
In-depth understanding of the following areas: Java / JavaScript, XML, Oracle Financials, Procurement.
Significant knowledge of information technologies.
Proven experience working in a manufacturing and service environment.
Ability to effectively gain ownership for program-wide issues by the appropriate management group and the ability to drive issue resolution.
Experience developing and enforcing standards and procedures for project deliverables, quality assurance, walkthroughs, issue reporting, and change management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4+ plus years IT experience.
Experience working with global teams in a matrix environment.
