Recruiting candidates for the position of Technical Services Manager of Mission Critical facilities:

Our Mission Critical (MEP Services) group was established to address the specific construction needs of critical facilities including greenfield, interior fit-out, retrofit of "live" environments, and repositioning existing buildings. The group comprises of electrical, mechanical, technology and construction professionals who have extensive, hands-on experience designing, estimating, constructing and commissioning complex critical facilities and infrastructure.

This position provides technical leadership in the preconstruction, commissioning/start-up & turnover phase of Mission Critical Infrastructure (Critical Facilities, Data Centers, Colocation Centers, Network Operations Centers, Computer Labs) and MEP Services projects. The role is accountable for the management, coordination and completion of the preconstruction phase of these projects to meet cost, risk and quality objectives in relation to design-development, contracting (owner & subs), scheduling, value engineering, estimating/bidding and procurement.
This person will be heavily involved in business development and responding to RFPs, design-development efforts with the Client and Architect/Engineer reps, providing constructability reviews and technical/risk assessments, creating budgets and cost forecasts, estimating electrical systems, identifying major subcontractors, and purchasing major infrastructure equipment (mechanical & electrical) directly from Vendors.
Background and Experience Requirements:
• Ten (10) years of construction related experience;
• Project experience must encompass critical facilities, especially Data Centers;
• Technical (engineering) expertise in electrical infrastructure;
• Capable of estimating (take-offs) Divisions 16 (Electrical) and 15 (Mechanical);
• Experience in preconstruction management (ability to manage the preconstruction process for similar projects) including in-depth knowledge of estimating and bidding, design development, value engineering, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, contracts and equipment procurement;
• Current knowledge of the equipment/material vendor market and procurement process, especially in the Electrical, Mechanical and Controls sector;
• Bachelor (four year) degree in a construction or engineering related curriculum, or experience equivalent to a combination of technical training and related exp. Strongly desire Electrical Engineering.
