This position will report to the Senior Leader and Manager of CTL Portfolio Management and will be responsible for the following key business activities:
* Performance of the Expected P&I test for loans sold to third party investors (i.e., FannieMae, FreddieMac, SBA) to satisfy the monthly servicing requirements.
* Serve as additional back-up staff for Investor Reporting.
* On-going testing of existing internal controls as part of the Control Self-Assessment (CSA) process, accumulation of testing results, communication of exceptions to upper management, and definition and implementation of remediation plans in response to control break-downs. Testing of controls will include accumulation of the applicable populations, random selection of sample items, accumulation of documentation needed to perform the test and maintenance of supporting workpapers. Compliance with internal testing deadlines will be required.
* On-going risk assessment performance to identify control gaps, identification of controls needed for new processes or changes to existing processes and identification of enhancements to existing controls/processes.
* Audit Liaison with internal and external oversight groups. Duties will include accumulation of data in response to requests for information received from oversight groups. Responsibilities will include accumulation and organization of documents in a clear, concise format and within specified timeframes.
* Assist with development and updating of process flows and procedures for the various departments within portfolio management including analytical review, transactions, third party servicing, investor management and property inspections and evaluations.
This position will require interaction with various employees at varying levels within Portfolio Management. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to improve/enhance processes and procedures and will excel in teamwork in order to execute these changes. In order to be successful, the Portfolio Manager will need to fully understand the end to end process flows and procedures used within the Portfolio Management Department, develop strong working relationships with colleagues, perform effective risk assessments, and make value-added process improvement recommendations.
Qualifications
Required and desired qualifications:
* MBA/Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or General Business or equivalent work experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in external or internal audit and/or experience in a Control Self-Assessment role.
* Minimum two years experience in Project Management
* Prior reconciliation experience is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organizational skills to accumulate large amounts of data in a manner that is easy to review.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of the loan servicing industry and the applicable regulations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft desktop tools including Word, Excel, Access, Visio, and Power Point.
* Experience in a liaison role with external agencies and oversight groups
