Job Objectives:
The General Accounting Clerk is responsible for coordinating, supporting and leading the general accounting accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, freight functions, and other accounting and payroll functions as back up. In addition, the General Accounting Clerk is responsible for helping to staff the front desk in order to answer company telephones and greet and check-in visitors. The qualified candidate must be willing to support the Safety, Quality and Reliability initiatives of the Plant and Team, other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities and Job Functions:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
· Process accounts receivable and payable in timely manner.
· Assist with preparation for monthly statements and assisting controller as needed.
· Assist with Billing (back up) using SKOPE system.
· Reconcile affiliated accounts.
· Reconcile marketing accounts.
· Reconcile customer accounts.
· Reconcile vendor accounts.
· Maintain freight liability spreadsheet daily.
· Back up for travel expense statement reconciliation.
· Back up for Payroll (as needed) and special project as requested by the controller.
· Assist with month end, quarter end, and year end closing.
· Required to do quarterly random inventory audit on raw materials, finished products and maintenance parts.
· Research and validate deductions from customers.
· Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciling accounts, inputting data, and understanding of the month end process.
· Perform miscellaneous duties (prepare spreadsheets, verifying issues on specific accounts) as requested by Supervisor.
· Complete periodic account reconciliation’s
· Complete various weekly, periodic and annual reports as requested by Supervisor
· Process accounts receivable and payable in timely manner.
· Assist with preparation for monthly statements and assisting controller as needed.
Receptionist Duties:
Aid in greeting & directing visitors
Aid in making sure that all visitors are properly signed in, and assigned a badge
Aid in answering & directing incoming calls
Aid in logging out visitors
Requirements
Qualification requirement:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. In addition, the individual must follow all Plant and Department Safe Work Practices, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and possess excellent computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SKOPE, & Prism. Must be able to multi-task, must be self motivated, dedicated, reliable, focused and a detail oriented team player with a positive attitude whose able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent Organizational Skills and possess good analytical skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge required.
Education and/or experience:
An Associate Degree in Accounting or related area is preferred and two to three years related experience. The qualified individual must have a successful track record in handling accounts payables, accounts receivables, vendor relations, problem solving, reconciling accounts. In addition, working with financial statements is a plus. The qualified individual must be able to successfully accomplish tasks under time constraints accurately y and efficiently.
Quality Control:
* Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
* Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
* Will be accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
* Actively support the production of quality products on all production lines.
Language skills:
Ability to read and interpret financial statements, excel spreadsheet and safety rules. Must have the ability to generate routine reports and correspondence. Must have the ability to speak effectively and convey information to other associates.
Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection is required in the production area.
Work Schedules:
The General Accounting Clerk on occasions must be flexible as to shift and scheduling during closings, annual Safety Trainings, etc. The general workweek is Monday thru Friday, however the position requires minimal overtime.
