Job Summary
The Manager,Tax is a specialized role that includes management of federal, state, local and special tax compliance for all Broadlane entities. This role requires a versatile tax professional to identify tax savings opportunities and mitigate exposure that can be accomplished through either the compliance, audit or the planning process. Position is responsible for special projects that mine opportunities and documented research of tax matters applicable to Broadlane's business. The position requires constant monitoring of tax developments in all areas that the Company's business impacts and extensive partnering with business unit personnel to implement successful tax strategies. Position requires energetic self starter that can operate without extensive supervision.
Essential Job Functions
Manages federal, state, local and special tax return processes. As a working manager prepares and files all tax returns.
Manages, prepares and monitors SFAS 109 and FIN 48 provisions, including effective tax rate computation, rate reconciliation, footnote disclosure, deferred tax asset/liability roll forward and reconciliation of all tax related balance sheet accounts.
Complies with federal, state, local and SEC requirements by studying regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; communicating with attorneys, tax specialists and our auditors to ensure timely tax and reporting requirements.
Identify tax opportunities that are not currently maximized and undertake special projects to mine the opportunities.Research and document tax matters applicable to Broadlane's business and development.
Recommends appropriate action to executive team.
Reviews and responds in a timely manner to all tax related notices.
Contact for all taxing authorities for questions, requests and audits.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects.
Required SkillsKnowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements. Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors and company contacts. Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above.Required Experience and EducationBachelor Degree in Accounting. Minimum of 5 years accounting experience with corporate and partnership tax returns. CPA preferred
