Principal Accountabilities:
We are seeking a payroll professional to provide expertise to the US payroll team to include supervision of the payroll process, completion and tracking of ongoing data audits, and maintenance and set up of employment taxes for US employees. The ideal candidate has in depth payroll experience, basic tax knowledge, and an interest in developing into the Payroll Manager role.
US Payroll Responsibilities:
· Oversee payroll process and complete duties related to the payroll process on a biweekly basis and serve as backup for payroll and manual check processing.
· Ensure processors have the technical support and training needed to perform their duties.
· Document and maintain US Payroll procedures.
· Complete ongoing payroll and tax audits and serve as the internal/external audit liaison for the US payroll team.
· Review and resolve federal, state, and local tax notices and complete quarterly tax filing for jurisdictions not handled by ADP tax service.
· Check and report manual checks completed by the payroll processors and initiate stop payments and reversals.
· Evaluate and process taxable fringe benefits.
· Monitor individual employee tax set up for accuracy and compliance including biweekly audits, international assignees, and foreign nationals with visas.
· Manage the relationship with the third party tax service.
· Complete amendments as needed.
· Research and respond to tax inquiries from employees and HR in a through and timely manner.
· Backup to Payroll Manager and Payroll System Administrator.
Qualifications:
· Four year degree required in a related field and/or equivalent related work experience.
· 3-5 years minimum payroll experience and previous supervisory experience.
· Basic payroll tax knowledge required.
· Must possess proficiency in MS Excel.
· Prior experience with ADP payroll software is required. ADP Payforce experience is preferred.
· Attention to detail and accuracy is of the utmost importance.
· Expertise in process development and creation of payroll controls.
· Excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve problems effectively.
· Excellent communications skills both oral and written and ability to communicate professionally with all levels in the organization.
· Individual should be action oriented, service focused, and have the ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
· Individual must be highly analytical, organized and possess strong time management skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to function in a cooperative team approach are highly valued.
