Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating cross functional and geographically distributed teams and programs designed to ensure the accurate and timely recording and ultimate safeguarding of the company’s cash, wire, credit card transactions, gift card transactions, accounts receivable, notes receivable and payable; and the delivery of corporate accounting support for the growing domestic and international franchise operations division.
Key Performance Elements / Essential Functions:
Attract, develop, motivate and evaluate a geographically distributed and competent team of professionals; effectively utilize individual and group potential.
Ensure controls are in place to govern off-shore accuracy and turn-around-time while establishing and measuring and reporting on service levels achieved.
Provide an ongoing positive liaison with staff and other Brinker and remote Accounting personnel to ensure a positive working environment.
Sponsor, lead and/or participate in special projects to identify improvements in functional areas and across departments.
Foster an environment of open communication to ensure the open expression of ideas and opinions.
Plan, direct, and coordinate a positive program to ensure the accurate and timely recording and safeguarding of the company’s cash, credit card transactions, gift card and accounts receivable, and ensure that accounts are collected and recorded.
Manage and coordinate the accurate and timely recording and transactions attendant to the company’s notes payable and notes receivable.
Manage and coordinate a positive program of accounting support for Brinker’s domestic and international franchise operation divisions and ensure that results of operations royalties and miscellaneous billings are recorded in accurate and timely fashion.
Manage billing and collections for domestic and international franchisees, house accounts and catering accounts receivables.
Responsible for managing credit card chargeback and interchange
Manage accounting for $280M gift card program with multiple types including B2B, 3rd Party and internal restaurant sales
Manage and report on accounting for Franchise gift card sales and cross-boundary reimbursements
Manage to ensure continuity of banking, armored car and check collections.
Manage the establishment and maintenance of positive relationships between team members, banks, armored car and check collection companies selected to process company assets.
Oversee the opening and closing of all bank accounts (corporate and unit).
Manage, coordinate and ensure continuity of special projects related to banking, armored car and check collections.
Cash management - resolving cash shortages or surpluses due to the unsynchronized nature of a company’s cash inflows and outflows.
Collecting funds from customers or other payors
Concentrating funds where they can be most efficiently utilized
Disbursing funds to vendors, employees, investors and other payees
Developing and maintaining appropriate information systems to gather and analyze treasury data
Managing relationships with banks and other financial service providers
Restaurant support services / accounting support
Short-term liquidity management
Education/Training:
College Degree (Accounting/Finance)
MBA preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of Brinker accounting systems relating to accounts receivable, notes receivable and notes payable.
Solid knowledge of the tender processes (credit card, gift card and cash processes.)
Solid knowledge of multi-unit banking and consolidation/cash management.
Working knowledge of Brinker franchise policies and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of iSeries applications, SE Workstation, Excel, Internet/Intranet, ReconNET, ESSBASE
Work Experience:
4-6 years accounting management, restaurant and/or multi-unit retail a plus
2-4 years experience in Franchise and/or Tender Accounting a plus
Experience managing in an outsourced environment a plus
